Delicious Cajun Shrimp and Grits - homemade recipe

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Large shrimppeeled and deveined
  • 1 cup Stone-ground grits
  • 1 cup Sharp cheddar cheesegrated
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 4 oz Andouille sausagesliced
  • 1 Bell pepperdiced
  • 2 stalks Celerydiced
  • 3 Green onionssliced
  • 3 cloves Garlicminced

Instructions

    Cook grits according to package directions. Stir in cheese, 1 tbsp butter, and cream.

    Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning.

    Cook sausage in large skillet until browned. Remove and set aside.

    Add remaining butter to skillet. Sauté bell pepper and celery 3 minutes.

    Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Add shrimp and cook 3-4 minutes.

    Return sausage to pan and toss everything together.

    Serve shrimp mixture over cheese grits. Garnish with green onions.
