Hearty beef stew with vegetables in bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef stew meatcut into 2-inch pieces
  • 3 large Potatoescubed
  • 4 large Carrotssliced
  • 3 Celery stalkschopped
  • 1 large Oniondiced
  • 4 cloves Garlicminced
  • 4 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh thyme
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1/4 cup Flourfor thickening
  • To taste Salt and pepper

Instructions

    Season beef with salt and pepper, brown in large pot.

    Remove beef, add onion and garlic to pot.

    Add tomato paste, cook 1 minute, then add beef back.

    Add broth, Worcestershire, thyme, and bay leaves.

    Simmer covered 1.5 hours, add vegetables, cook 45 minutes more.

    Mix flour with water, stir in to thicken, cook 10 minutes.
