Set-and-forget beef stew made in the slow cooker. Tender beef and vegetables with minimal effort.

Add beef, potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion to slow cooker.
Mix broth, tomato paste, wine, and seasonings.
Pour liquid mixture over ingredients in slow cooker.
Cook on low 7-8 hours or high 3-4 hours.
Mix cornstarch and water, stir into stew.
Cook 15 minutes more until thickened.
Don't lift the lid during cooking - this releases heat and extends cooking time.
Add mushrooms, peas, or different root vegetables.
Store in refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 6 months.
